But seriously, casting directors are not the enemy, my fellow
actors. The truth is, their "Booties" (Not to mention their reputations) are on
the line! They want to take star players to the game. When you are brought before a
producer or director, you are expected to be "in the running".
If a CD can "shake you up", by re-assigning your character, changing gender,
sense of space and time, sexual preference, or ask you to make different
"choices" in your character(s), You need us!
Methods like Meisner, Adler, Stanislavsy, Hagen and other greats, are only as useful as
the actor behind them! "Beingness" is an acquired skill, not necessarily
intrinsic. You also need spontaneity; the ability to think on your feet.
